Founding Podiatrist & Clinical Director

Susan Summers

Degree Qualified – BSc (Hons) Podiatry
Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered: CH07134
Royal College of Podiatry Member (RCPod): 008140

About Sue:

Sue qualified as a Chiropodist in 1978, from ‘The London Foot Hospital’, within the University College Hospital complex. After qualifying, she joined the National Health Service across Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire (within Addenbrookes Hospital), London and Essex where she remained for 8 years. After the birth of her second child, Sue decided in 1985 to branch into the world of Private Chiropody, establishing her sole practice ‘S. J. Summers Chiropody’, where she regularly provided her services alongside Dr Kumar at Highwoods Surgery, Visiting Patients homes, and also for the staff of Sainsburys on Priory Walk in Colchester Town Centre (many of our current patients still remember Sue treating them for the first time in the 80s & 90s!).

Following the growth of her private clientele, and with 4 young children, she decided in 1994 to open her own premises from a surgery attached to her family home – here, ‘Colchester Foot Clinic’ was born and thrived on Ipswich Road for 30 years!

During these years, Sue achieved her Podiatry Degree (after the qualification change), completed a Level 5 qualification as a ‘Clinical Educator’ and has post-graduate certificates in Local Anaesthesia, Prescription Only Medicines and Biomechanics & Orthotics. She has always endeavoured to keep up-to-date with all treatment advances and changes within the profession.

In 2023, and after 45 years as a practicing Podiatrist, Sue decided to step away from regular clinical duties to allow her to spend time with her ever-growing family! However, she continued to oversee the practice as Clinical Lead, working occasional ‘specialist’ clinics and stepping in to help out when required.

As of Summer 2026, Sue decided it was time to hand over the reins of Clinical Lead, a role which she has exclusively held since 1985! She still however remains an active Director of the business and is involved in all important decisions.

You will more than likely see her from time-to-time as she struggles to stay away!

Clinical Lead Podiatrist

Lisa Fuller BSc (Hons), MSc
HCPC: CH34086
RCPod: 033019

About Lisa:

Beginning her working career in Beauty Therapy and Reflexology, Lisa decided to branch into the world of Podiatry and gained her Podiatry degree in 2015 from the University of East London.

Once graduated, she joined the NHS where she dedicated 10 years to working within various roles across Essex, from Podiatry Assistant to Specialist Podiatrist. Her varying roles have allowed her to acquire an extensive knowledge base, experience in managing high-risk patients, and also mentoring of colleagues and students.

Alongside the standard requirements, she has continued to extend her scope of practice as a Podiatrist to develop her capabilities, completing courses in Acupuncture & Needling, Dermatology, an ‘Independent Prescribing’ module and an MSc in ‘Clinical Skin Integrity and Wound Management’ at the University of Hertfordshire, all while raising a young family, similarly to Sue.

After completing her MSc in 2023, Lisa joined our team of Podiatrists part-time alongside starting her role within the NHS Podiatric Surgery team. Within this NHS role she managed post-operative wound care, conducted pre-assessments and delivered treatments in preparation for foot and ankle surgery.

Lisa has always been ambitious to progress into a leadership role where she could combine her clinical knowledge and mentoring skills to support team development and maintain high standards of care for patients.

We are extremely honoured to welcome Lisa as our new Clinical Lead and are certain that, alongside providing fantastic treatment to all patients, she will bring a wealth of knowledge, guidance and support to our wonderful team.

If you wish to book in with Lisa, she will be regularly available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.
