When you attend your first appointment, we will take a thorough history of your problem and treatment record, as well as your medical status. Many foot problems stem from health issues, so it would be useful if you could bring a list of your medications with you.
If your problems require the prescription of an insole or orthotic, we may also wish to see you standing or walking, so wearing a pair of shorts or a skirt is preferable. If you are having specific problems with some shoes, it would be useful if you brought these along with you.
Also, please remember to remove any nail varnish or toe rings, so that we can accurately assess the health of your toes and nails. You will be assessed first by one of our podiatrists who will then refer you to our Podiatry Assistant should you only require routine nail care.
At your first appointment, we will offer advice as well as treating your problem, if possible. You can expect to be here about 30 minutes or so, and it may be advocated, at the podiatrist’s discretion, that you attend again in a specified period of time.
All New Patients will be required to pay for their appointment upon booking. This deposit is non-refundable if the appointment is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, or not-attended.
Any existing patients that have not been seen by us within the previous 2 years will also be classed as a ‘New Patient’.
