At The Foot Clinic, we have a team of 9 Podiatrists. All our podiatrists are Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered, degree qualified (B.Sc. (Hons)), and members of The Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists (M.Ch.S.).

Founder & Clinical Lead Podiatrist
Susan Summers B.Sc. (Hons), M.Ch.S.
HCPC registered Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine (CH07134)
Sue qualified as a chiropodist in 1978, from The London Foot Hospital, within the University College Hospital complex. She worked with the National Health Service for 8 years, establishing her Private Practice in 1985. Sue has since achieved her podiatry degree, and has post graduate certificates in local anaesthesia, Prescription only Medicines, Biomechanics and Orthotics. She is also a qualified 'Clinical Educator'. Sue is now semi-retired as of August 2023. Although she no longer undertakes regular clinical duties, she continues to oversee the practice, stepping in to help out & cover when required.
Our Podiatrists
Sarah Strumello (CH11084)
Sarah qualified in Podiatry from New College Durham in 1990.
Having worked in various NHS & Private Podiatry positions Sarah joined our team in 2005. She has a keen interest in holistic approaches to treatment and natural & herbal remedies.
She currently works Wednesdays and Fridays at our Colchester clinic and Thursdays at our Harwich clinic.
Katherine Wakefield (CH12761)
Katherine qualified in Podiatry from the University of Northampton in 1994.
Having previously worked for NHS Podiatry Katherine joined our team in 2005 and is confident in all areas of Podiatry, including Biomechanics.
She currently works at our Colchester clinic on Mondays and Tuesdays, and carries out Home Visits on Thursdays.
Craig Myles (CH32467)
Originally from Scotland, Craig qualified in Podiatry from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2011.
He currently works full time for NHS Podiatry in Colchester, and has an interest in Diabetes and the Diabetic foot.
Craig joined our team in 2015 and currently works Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
Lucy Hughes (CH33195)
Lucy qualified in Podiatry from the University of Brighton in 2013 and currently works full time for NHS Podiatry in North East Essex.
She joined our team in 2017 and currently works a monthly Tuesday evening.
Joanne Newby (CH13968)
Joanne qualified in Podiatry from the University of Brighton in 1998 and is currently the head of NHS Paediatric Podiatry in Colchester, with an interest in all areas of Podiatry including Biomechanics.
Jo joined our team in 2022 and currently works Fridays.
Lisa Fuller (CH34086)
Lisa qualified in Podiatry from the University of East London in 2015. Since then she has worked in various Private and NHS Podiatry positions, including her current role within the NHS Podiatric Surgery team.
She joined our team in 2023 and currently works Monday & Wednesday.
Nicole Pretor (CH34658)
Nicole gained her Podiatry degree from the University of Northampton in 2017. Since qualifying she has focussed solely on working within private Podiatry around Essex, with a keen interest in Verrucas and Ingrown Toenails.
Nicole joined our team in 2024, working Monday, Wednesday & Thursday.
Nicole will be on Maternity Leave from Februrary 2026, and hoping to return March 2027
Kelvin Madyara (CH34282)
Kelvin gained his Podiatry degree from the University of East London in 2016. Since qualifying, he has worked within both NHS and Private podiatry roles across London & Kent, with an interest in all areas of Podiatry.
Having recently relocated to Essex, Kelvin joined our team in 2025 and works regular Thursdays with additional sessions Monday-Saturday.

Appointments can be booked directly at the desk, with one of our receptionists, or over the phone at your convenience. We aim to resolve your problem as soon as possible, but many foot conditions do require the provision of regular or occasional maintenance treatments. We strongly recommend booking in advance due to appointment slots filling up fast.
